I pay most of them through their online websites. I only write a check for rent and for the car payment (so I can apply the extra towards the principal)

I like to use my card credit as much as possible and paid off, monthly on-line. I like to write my 'ministry checks' and mail 'em and put my tithe check in the offering plate. Also, do the online purchase scheme.

Some I pay online at the site, some I pay over the phone, some I mail in, some I take in person, a couple are automatic drafts.

I do it some sort of online way...either the bank sends a check automatically, I go to their website and enter my debit card number, they automatically deduct it from my checking account. I don't mail in any regular bills...ooops, I guess I do. I mail the payment to my attorney because their payment slips only give CC as an option so I mail a debit card number.

I have set up all my utilities so they are automatically debited from my checking account. I like this because the amounts change every month and I don't have to do anything. When my mom was sick I left town and ended up being gone six weeks and I didn't have to worry about getting my bills paid. My two credit cards are paid in full each month by auto debit. My homeowner's association is set up with on-line bill pay from my checking account. That's my only bill that I can't set up for automatic debit but this way I still don't have to do anything except change the amount once a year when the dues increase. I write checks twice a year for my car insurance and property taxes and once a year for homeowner's insurance and my umbrella policy. Those are really the only bills I pay by check. I also write checks for my giving and for birthday gifts for my nieces and nephews. All told, I write maybe 50 checks a year.

also, when you check your bank statement online, you can see exactly when the charge was deducted from your bank account. If you mail in a payment, you will never know if and when the creditor received your check. If its lost in the mail, you will have late fees and probly your interest rate will go up to 28% from 5%... yes it happens. I love that my bill will be paid in ONE business day. i can then budget better depending on my needs for the month.

I pay most bills with my bill pay through my bank, but some have to be mailed in and the rest I will take in if they are places close by.

I pay as many bills as possible using my credit cards (to earn cash back and points). I pay off my credit cards each month online. My mortgage is automatically paid through my bank. Electric and water are paid with a check (I drive by the offices anyway) and my trash collection is the only bill I actually mail a check to. I am going to set up a bill pay through my bank, since they are offering $50 to do so. I have a question: How do banks make money with online bill pay other than hoping you will continue to bank with them?

I also do online billpaying. There are a couple of bills which are taken directly from my account, but all of the others I do myself, and therefore control what day the money goes out.

I pay everything online. Very convenient and saves me the gas and stamps every month.

i think it's very important for payment to be pushed out by the individual/bank rather than a pull from a company. there's usually no reason to give companies full access to your bank account to take money whenever they want. errors are just too common. Ain't that the truth... if I'd paid my phone bill automatically, they'd have debited my account with £270, instead of the correct under £60.

Most of them are paid online, some through automatic withdrawal, others that I pay each month "by hand". The only thing I pay with a check is rent.

Some I pay online, some I use a check to mail because I don't want my debit card charged. One I pay in cash at a request. Connie Lou

I currently dont have any bills to pay. Everything is paid off, except my student loans. I am still deciding whether to pay them now or wait. I think if I pay them now I would do so using the online method.

I love writing checks ... That option is being phased out now. Very few shops will accept cheques and there generally has to be a minimum spend.
