I have quite a few favorites, so listing just five is going to be a challenge. So list your top five and why they have special meaning for you.

Here are mine:

1. Give Me Jesus, by Fernando Ortega. This was the theme song at an Ann Graham Lotz revival. Very spiritual experience. I felt so close to God after that conference.

2. Nothing to say, by Andrew Peterson. Beautiful imagery of God's creation

3. Untitled Hymn. It covers all the major emotions we feel throughout our Christian walk so there's always something to relate to.

4. Redeemer, by Nicole C. Mullen. As I posted elsewhere, this is a song that God gave to me during an impromptu worship time as I was walking the beach.

5. God of all of me, by Sandi Patti. This is from a CD I've had over 10 years; when I reflect on who God is, this is the song I will often turn to during my devotional time.

Let's see, five are hard to pin down.

1. On Christ the Solid Rock I stand. Powerful, timeless truths in this old hymn. Get's too me every time it is sung.

2. Mighty to Save. Really brings home for me what Christ has done.

3. Blessed the your name. Just for the line, "You give and take away (repeat), my heat will choose to say, blessed by your holy name."

4. Majesty by Delirious. If there were one song that I wish I would have written, this would be it. It conveys my heart when I think about what the Lord has done for me.

5. Shackles by Mary Mary. Just for the groove. Lifts my spirits.

1.I am a friend of God-I struggle with having low self esteem so knowing I am a friend of God really touches my heart and soul.

2.Who am I- This song always makes me realize how I am nothing without Jesus.

3.Blessed be your name-I'm so happy that even though God gives and takes away,he's blessed my heart so much my heart does choose to say Blessed is his name.

4.My saviour,My God- even though I am so imperfect and have many faults,Jesus chose to die for me and loves me no matter what.

5.From the inside out-This song speaks to me since Jesus is changing me from the inside out.My heart and my soul cry out to him to be more like him.

I don't know that I have 5, but I'll give my #1.

"I Have Decided to Follow Jesus."

Sometimes it gets passed off as just a children song or something, but I think it is just an incredibly poignant and powerful song, declaring who we live for.

Charles Welsey's classic poem, 'O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing' is the pinnacle of English hymn-ology.
My personal favorite is Fanny Croby's, 'Blessed Assurance','Jesus is mine...'
'Victory in Jesus' 'I heard a old, old story...My Savior forever, He sought me and bought me with His Redeeming Blood...'
'My hope is built on nothing less...'(The Solid Rock)
'It is Well'(with my soul...

I would go on...

Holy, Holy, Holy - God used this hymn mightily to draw my little girl heart to Him. And it continues to be my favorite.

Be Thou My Vision - The desire of my heart.

Great is Thy Faithfulness - We sang this hymn at each of my parent's funerals. I first knew His faithfulness through their faithfulness.

There is a Fountain Filled with Blood - A portion of my love for this hymn is because of the story of the man who wrote it---William Cowper.

In Heavenly Love Abiding - This song is worth memorizing as a way of encouraging oneself.

Those are my traditional hymn favorites. Although like pstrdebi, I sigh, only five???

My more contemporary favorites would be:

Glory by Nicole Nordman

Jesus Your Name by Keith & Kristyn Getty & Ian Hannah

Speak, O Lord by Keith & Kristyn Getty

Wonderful, Merciful Savior by (I'll have to look this up)

Ancient Words by Lynn DeShazo

We went to hear Fernando Ortega at a church and the Getty's were his opening act---I don't like using those terms ('act') but it is the common vernacular, KWIM? What a tremendous blessing that was. I was already familiar with some of Getty's songs but I enjoy them even more now. I'm glad to know that others are familiar with their music.

So... a couple of my favorites...

One of my top fav's is "Great is Thy Faithfulness"... When my husband and I got married, we had a time of worship during the service (and also an alter call... God told me to. Someone came as someone's guest and they were moved to receive Christ)... Anyways... Great is Thy Faithfulness was one of the songs because of God's great faithfulness to us, in bringing us together.

Another would be "How Great is our God" by Chris Tomlin
and how bout "Shout to the Lord" by Darlene Zschech

ok... 2 more... hmmmmm

Just about anything by David Crowder Band... I love "The Glory of it All" and "Here is our King"
"Agnus Dei" by Third Day or maybe "Cry out to Jesus"... or "My Hope is in You"...

Aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh...... I CAN'T PICK JUST 5!!!!!!!

Oh, Debi named one of MY favs. This is one of my alltime favorites and I nearly forgot it. Thanks for being my rememberer, Debi!

This song still, after all these years of singing it, gives me chills. Definitely one that is inspired.

I go through seasons of which songs are on the top of my list (although I don't keep a conscious list), but some of my current favorites:

Blessed Be Your Name (I think this one was mentioned already, "in the land that is plentiful, where your streams of abunance flow...)

The Potter's Hand (Darlene Zschech or however her name is spelled)

Ummm... others are good, but not in the top 5 at the moment. But I can't think of any other top 5 songs right now.

i hope listing these will draw you all closer to the Lord, too.

1. Hosanna by Hillsong United. Hosanna means Lord, save now. It is a beautiful beautiful song.

2.Agnus Dei- I heard this at a church i was going to in '06. when i found out that it comes from the Book of Revelation that was it for me!

3. there is a song we have sung at the church i go to now, and i dont know all the words or what it is called, but in the song it says "I offer devotion"
it means a lot to me.

4. i have a short cd from tenth ave. north from a small concert i went to of theirs. it is called come away( i think)... it has five songs... they are beautiful.

5. there is a really special song by warren barfield...everytime i hear it, i know how much God loves me.

There are so many fantastic worship songs that it is hard to pick just five, but the first five that come to mind are:

Here I am to Worship (Israel Houghton's version is my favorite)

Better is One Day

Holy Says it All

Turn Your Eyes upon Jesus

Breathe

My All in All

Not necessarily in that order... I had to add a sixth...just couldn't stop at five. lol

In the Garden (and he walks with me and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his Own)

Holy, holy, holy

Blessed assurance

O Come Let Us Adore him ( and not just At Christmas time either)

I am an old time Traditionalist, but I must say, I love some of the new songs. Shout to the Lord gives me chills also.

"the All Day Song" or "Love Him In The Morning" by John Fischer

Love Him in the mornnin' when you see the sun arising
Love Him in the evening 'cause He's brought you through the day
And in the in between time when you feel the pressure coming
Remember that He love you and He promises to stay
And when you think you've got to worry,
'Cause it seems the thing to do,
Remember He's not in a hurry
He's always got time for you
Ssssoooooooo ...
repeat 1x (excluding "Ssssoooooooo")
