It is not what it means to me.. but what it means period - The Bible (66 books) is God's absolute Word for all of mankind.

Now on to your actual question, Elohim - God “Creator, Mighty and Strong” (Genesis 17:7; Jeremiah 31:33) – The plural form of Eloah, which is accommodating of the doctrine of the Trinity. From the Bible’s first sentence, the superlative nature of God’s power is evident as God (Elohim) speaks the world into existence (Genesis 1:1).

There are many theories - one being that the entire triune Divinity was involved in creation.

Some have said it was the "Royal Plural," indicating the king was more than equal to his subjects, but I suspect that the royal plural came from this verse and not the other way around.

More likely, it is an ideosyncratic feature of Hebrew, which often has plural words for singular items. Chaim (life) is also plural. The sky, atmosphere or God's dwelling is shamaim (the heavens).

The Trinity!!! It's sooooooo cool that God chose to refer to Himself that way starting in Genesis 1:1 To me it is the answer to the Us/Our question in "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness" Genesis 1:26

Gen 1.1 - MYHLA = plural Gods - 2,300 Xs; LA = singular God - 395 Xs.

Gen 2.4 - MYHLA HWHY = He Is (HWHY) Gods (MYHLA -- connected together hundreds of times.

The Jews, who were "blinded" (Isa 6.9-13; Mt 13.14-15) "invented "elohim."

But Hebrew has no vowels. AL [o] H Y M.

sidlee, welcome to the Forums. What actually do you mean by your statement? I'm pretty sure that Moses was not a "blinded Jew" when God divinely inspired him to write the name "Elohim" for God!
