Vintage Jesus is a GREAT book! I have an odd sense of humour tho, I'm sure its not for everyone.

Mark Driscoll?

I just read "Death by Love" - not much humor in that one.

How was, "Death by Love"? I'm thinking of purchasing it.

The Complex Infrastructure Known As The Female Mind - Reline K

A dating book written about girls, for girls, by the Reline K guys! I knew they could sing, but who knew they could write? LOL!

Would it be a good book for my 18 and 20 year old daughters to read?

Yeah, if they are up for some laughs!

You might look into also having them read "The Naked Truth about Love, Sex, and Dating" by Jason Illian, an Excellent book in my opinion! "I Kissed Dating Good-Bye" and "Boy Meets Girl" by Joshua Harris are also good. I also love "Wait For Me" by Rebecca St. James! There are so many good books out there and I own almost all of them on this subject...LOL!

Thank you.

You're welcome!

I am now reading the book "Sex is Not the problem, Lust is" By Joshua Harris
It is a very well written book!

Interesting. It's in the form of letters to members of his church, so it's very "pastoral." Really hammers on how repentance is not just simply conviction. The topics are heavy ones, so like I said in my earlier post, not as anywhere near much humor as I typically would expect from Driscoll.

I've just seen the movie "Love comes softly" by Janette Oke after reading 3 parts of her novel.

I enjoyed watching the movie even tho it only covered part of the novel.

A real good movie and a must see.

I am glad I was able to watch it...Finally after trying to look for it everywhere last summer to no avail. At last, God answered my prayers.

I've read all of the "Love Comes Softly" series, and the series that comes after it, following one of their grand daughters.

I've seen the first 5 movies, and I think number 6 is due out in January.

(Can you tell I'm a fan. LOL!)

She's also got a new book coming out in January. I've forgotten the name of that one, but I ordered it months ago when I heard it was coming.

OK - I came across a book today that I'm probably going to start reading tonight. However, I can't remember the name of it and I don't have it at work with me.

Finished Mirror Image by Danielle Steele (obviously not christian fiction). I read it because my mother told me to (long story ) Wasn't as graphic and racy as I thought, actually was a good read.

I'm currently reading Murder, Mayhem, and a Fine Man by Clair Mair Burney. Seems to be a very good read.

Whadya think of this? I haven't read it, but Heschel is one of my favourite writers on Jewish thought.

It's been a few years since I've read it, as well as God in Search of Man. It's terrific writing, and great philosophical argument for God's existence and the necessity of religion in any human culture. His use of the english language is unusually poetic for a philosopher. He does a great job of phrasing complicated ideas in a way that is not only easy to understand, but beautiful to read.
