Happy Birthday to you. Sorry you are having surgery on your birthday. We will be praying for you and just maybe we will see you at T's BBQ soon. I have a list of almost 100 people that are prayer partners. I will send out an email for prayer about your surgery. Good Luck.

Happy birthday fellow Cubs fan. I hope and pray your surgery will go okay. Have been there and done that, 6 years ago this week with the gallbladder. I came home the day of the surgery and went to a SG concert 3 days later, with my wife doing the driving. You might have to wait a bit for more fatty foods like ribs after the surgery, but you should do just fine.

...Here's the deal. I'm having gallbladder surgery the day after tomorrow (22nd). That is also my birthday. Hubby (huge SG fan) asked me if I wanted him to take me out for my birthday dinner tomorrow night since it's the night before surgery. I thought about it for like, a half of a second and told him that we would be making the 30-40 minute drive to Tony's for ribs just as soon as I have recovered. ...

Just drop the leftovers by my house as you go home.

...and get home in time to see the Vols pound the evil, heathen Crimson Tide.

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Thanks, Mike. Never to early to turn in your list BUT you still have many days to be good! Think you can handle that?
Be listening to you in a few minutes. Wish I could get the station here at home but have to wait until I am in the car. Have a great day.

zmanfan38:

Sorry you too must lose your gall bladder and from experience here is just a suggestion, eat very bland until the surgery and for just a couple or three days after until you see what foods bother you. What a birthday present! You deserve a double treat when you do get to celebrate. Good luck on the surgery, I pray it is lapo for you.

Well, I hope to see some of you at T's BBQ and Grill after Church on Sunday (Feb. 24). At least that is the plans as of Sat. night. Have a group of about 10 hopefully will be there. Yum! Yum! And don't forget they play Rook on Monday nights at T's.

Uh, Santa, Sunday is the 25th.

I hope you don't make this mistake on December 25th. There will be a lot of disappointed boys and girls.

Thanks for the correction. At the time I wrote that it was after midnight last night and just did not adjust the date to the day. Anyway, it is after midnight Saturday night or Sunday morning, and still hoping to see some of you at T's BBQ Sunday or today whichever is correct.

Well, I think this is the 25th and I think I remember going to Tony's after church today and having some of his Meat Loaf special w/baked beans and potato salad. VERY GOOD!. Yes, I am yelling how good it was. Some of our friends with us had the Pig Wings on a stick. Looked yummy. They did not offer to share. And the homemade Apple Caramel Pie was great. Another friend did let us share with him on the pie. Tony heats the pie. The only thing missing there was a big scoop of Vanilla ice cream. The restaurant was very busy. That is good to see.
Look for Santa's Brunswick Stew coming soon to T's BBQ and Grill. Should name it Nancy's Brunswick Stew since my wife gave him the recipe today. Well actually, she gave him a recipe for White Chicken Chili also, so maybe he could name that after Nancy.
Don't forget Rook night is Monday. Eat at 6 pm and then join in the fun of Rook games.
Until next report, it's time for a nap.
And by the way, since I posted a wrong date earlier, just wanted to remind Kerrlaw I am a member of the Geezer's so that should be understandable to err like that.

It did not sound like you were kidding about the gambling post. I don't think you are so backwards that you really think playing a game of Rook is gambling.
I have had a bad day, been knocked off AOL, spent over an hour trying to get tech support to help. Right now I am typing by candlelight because someone has hit a tree near my house and the power is off. And the moderator has jumped on me about another post I made in another thread. So maybe it would be best for me to just forget about these forums and let you and the others do your thing.
It has been a bad day.

Oh, come on Santa, I love to play cards. You should know, you left me an automatic shuffler for Christmas.

We put smiley faces in to show we are joking. Like this:

When I am talking with a cop or a D.A., and they say "I'll bet he...........", I jokingly reply; "Wagering, sir, is illegal.", which is why I joked with you about it.

Take a deep breath, have some milk and cookies, and get a good night's sleep. Things will be better tomorrow.

Personally, I have enjoyed your posts immensely and hope that you continue with us.

We all get our hands slapped from time to time in the forums. They have been on me like a monkey on a cupcake.

Like Mrs. Kerrlaw always says: F.I.D.O. (Forget It and Drive On)

And never underestimate how backwards that I can be.

I hope you reconsider and continue posting. I also have enjoyed reading your posts. Besides my grandkids think its cool that I am in a forum with "Santa". I think Kerrlaw1 was kidding. After all he is a lawyer. And as my boss, who is also a lawyer, says they have a license to do many things. All, or at least most, are covered by the JD degree. What say ye Kerrlaw1?

We all learn by correction.
The first class web sites have to assist members of forums regarding reprinting an entire article in a post because of copyright infringements and editing concerns.
It happens to all of us in our early stages of our internet life.
Making a comment about an article with a link to the same article will keep the management happy.
We play rook at church camps and with the "saints" of the church with no problem.
Santa, do not go back in into hibernation like the annual Santa because who else can keep us inform on the happenings in the Smokey Mountains.
The real reason we want you to stay because we like you.

Sound like family. By the way Santa I never got that pony I wanted. Just thought I would let you know.lol

The only license that I really care about is my marriage license to Mrs. Kerrlaw.

It means that I can kiss her whenever I want.

Mrs. Kerrlaw plays cards on women's church retreats. So far they haven't been busted.

Doesn't anybody (except me) watch Andy Griffith any more?

When they fixed Goober up with Lydia Crosswaithe, she raised an objection to every activity that was suggested. When Andy suggested bridge, she replied "I don't gamble".

I used to play cards prior to concerts at at Buddys Barbeque in Knoxville (before Buddys was a chain). That's how old I am.
