I'm only a part time baby wearer, very part time. But I got SO excited today because I thought to take my Moby Wrap to the Y when I dropped eldest off for his swim class, put middle into the nursery and walked the track with youngest in the Moby. I got stopped by SO MANY people, men and women alike felt the need to comment on the Moby and how happy Gideon was having his ride. He actually fell asleep by the time I needed to pick eldest up from his class and stayed asleep in the wrap while I helped him shower and dress and pick Zion up from the nursery.

I just bought THIS sling. It looks and feels good so far. Anyone have any experience with it? I can't wait to wear my baby! I"m not sure how wearing my baby will work though, he's coming home on a monitor and I am not sure how big and bulky it is and he's supposed to wear it all the time.

I had one and gave it away, Erin. I really, really did not like it. at all.

If you join TBW(thebabywearer.com) they have a forum for wearing special needs babies.

ETA- that one might work ok while he is little, but when he gets heaver you will probably want something with a better design.

Yeah, I plan to upgrade to something else later. I was mainly wanting this one while he was very little, so when I took him out people wouldnt touch. I plan to get/make a K'tan very soon.

Can your MIL make you a K'tan this weekend? The K'tan really snuggles them in and hides them from the world. The infantino doesn't really do that... I have a regular, padded ring sling if you want it!

I don't think she'll have time this weekend but its definitely on her to do list. I"ll nag, I mean ask, her about it today! We thought we had a while to get one made.... We won't be go out for a few days anyway...other than doctors visits and such. (which we are going to have a lot of)

Erin I didn't like that one, we looked at in Babies R Us and it just didn't seem right.

I do LOVE my Hotsling though AND now I love both my Moby's and we have a new carrier as well which we are still getting the hang of and may need to wait just a bit on, she's a slouch in it for some reason..

Hmmm.... I may end up not liking it then. But I've already got it (with a gift card) so I'll give it a go.

That one looks REALLY uncomfortable for the shoulder. Ya never know though, you might love it!

I used a pouch sling when Gwen was just born (she was Isaac's size now) and she fit great in it and enjoyed it. I'd vote for a pouch sling for a wee one.

Brandy - what's your new carrier? Sarah's making me a mei tai and I can't WAIT to try it out (and wear Gwen on my back!) ... and I'd really like a pouch sling and a non-padded ring sling. I think I might have a problem ...

The carrier actually feels pretty comfy, now I obviously havent tried it with a baby in it. Now though, I've been trying to figure out how to wear him and how to carry the monitor..... The babywearer page wouldnt work right for me here at work...I'll fiddle with it later.

I have a moby for at home...if I can find time to study the tutorial on tying it.

rin, this wrap would be my choice for a preemie. It's easy to tie and easy to nurse in. I still use it for Isabel here at home. I've worn her out at the mall when she was real young too.
Sarah also has a great way to tie Moby on too.

Kim, Ryanne made me a soft structured carrier, very similar to this type and I got to pick the fabric and stuffs. I love it, kiddo just needs to get bigger and not so slouchy.

That one looks perfect. Thats pretty much how I hold him when we "snuggle" now. He loves it.

Brandy, you could try putting a receiving blanket underneath her, that might help some. Or you can froggy her into it, I have been doing that with my nephew when I wear him in the SSC.

Erin take the Moby with you when you room in and try it there? I wish I had used that hold for her sleeping on me/us when we first got home. Would have saved my arms at night holding her. :)

Ryanne, Jer thinks she"s too splayed out now with her hips... how would I froggy her but not splay her hips so much? And call me slow, but where would blanket go? like a pillow for her bottom ? I'm up to trying anything to use it now more. I really should send you a pic of her in it front facing and barely able to see over the edge. too cute.

Froggying is just putting her in there with her knees against her chest and slip her into the carrier. Does that make sense?

Yes and then ,aybe a blanket to secure her hips? she will try to spread out OR stand up. It"s almost like she"s in between infant and more sturdy baby stage now. It' odd.

Well, the spreading out is probably fine, even Gabby looks like her legs are so far apart that it would be uncomfortable. HERE is a picture of a smaller baby in a Mei Tei, which is the same concept.

Gosh, now I want to make another carrier. I am soooo wanting an unpadded ring sling. To bad I need the newborn to go with it, and I can't produce one of those for at least 10 months, even we started trying tonight, lol.

Ryanne I am excited to try an unpadded ring sling with this baby, once I figured out how to nurse in a ring sling it became my best friend! I am hoping it won't take me 6 months to figure it out with this one.

I wish one of you ladies who knows how to nurse in a wrap could come once the baby is born... I couldn't figure it out no matter how many tutorials I read or watched!

Chelsea a friend of mine uses the kangaroo for the Moby and just slides him over and down a bit and he loves it. I can't nurse in any type of carrier/wrap, I have to use both hands and it's too hard in a carrier to do.
