Please pray for my family on my mother's side. We just received news that my beloved grandmother may only live for another 6 months or so. It seems that her body is just starting to shut down. She has had 94 wonderful years on this earth and is ready to meet her Creator...but it is very hard to 'face' it...especially since for the last 10 years, I have only been able to see her once every 4 or 5 years because we live so very far away.

For those who don't read the baby chat thread...Ryanne and Micah are taking Gabby to the ER. She has been throwing up for hours, every 15 minutes or whenever she gets a couple spoons of liquid down, and they think she may have food poisoning. She is definitely getting dehydrated--her mouth is getting sticky. She has no fever. Please pray for them, for quick treatment and that the docs can figure out exactly what is wrong. The first time they called the nurse told them it was no big deal!

Ryanne is going to try and text me with any updates, so I should be back later.

Thanks for praying ladies! Almost as soon as I asked people to start praying the vomiting slowed down. They treated her with Zofran and fluids at the ER, she is/was slightly dehydrated but is doing much better!

Pray for my oldest daughter...she leaves for the UK in 68 hours. She is excited and nervous. We are excited and nervous for her too.

Pray for her safety, for her to have wisdom to when and with whom and how to share the message of the Gospel, and for her to just grow personally as well as spiritually.

Did I mention she is only 17?

My niece & the whole family need prayers. Here is what my SIL said in an e-mail:

"R went to court on Monday. The result was not good. Essentially since we are out of retainer fee and they still have an attorney we will lose N to the father on September 25, 2008. Since he lives with his parents in a $300,000 house the guardian ad litem feels N living in that house and having her own room is more important than anything R does. R plans on joining the military and leaving as soon as she loses custody of N. Isn't it great to live in a country where you can buy your son a child?"

Now I will say that I haven't talked to my parents to get the full story. My SIL tends to overreact, but it sounds like this is a done deal. I just can't believe that the court could think that my great niece would be better off with her father (who has been abusive to & raped her mother). I'm praying for a miracle that this doesn't happen and for a hedge of protection around N if it does. Actually, I think going into the military might be very good for my niece. She's a bright girl & could use the discipline that military life can offer. However, if the father has custody & she is gone, I think our family will have no contact with N at all. I know we don't have any legal rights to it & I doubt his family would allow us to see her. This whole situation just breaks my heart.

Well, I was right in my instinct that maybe my SIL was overreacting. The date she gave (Sept. 25) is when they will go to trial. The father is suing for custody. They were in hearings with a magistrate to try to settle it w/o trial, but I guess that wasn't possible. They do not have any more money to pay the attorney, but that doesn't mean they'll have to give up. I'm not sure what will happen, but it isn't a done deal yet. Prayers that the lawyer would be charitable or there would be a way for them to pay w/o going further in debt would be appreciated. Also, this is placing a lot of strain on their family, so they need prayer in general too. My niece is talking about going into the military, so prayers for her to make a wise decision.

Finally!

Brian broke is left tibula and femur along with his left arm. He will most likely be having surgery for those today. Right now he is getting a CAT scan to find out if there is anything internal.

Please Keep us in your prayers.

today we are having our first day of VBS. Russ and I are doing the Bible Blast part. Not only are our thoughts with Brian and Donna, but we are really stressed from many directions. Furthermore Rebekah was up and down a lot last night crying. I am so tired from lack of sleep. We are leaving this morning to finiish up stuff that we didn't have time for before.

Rebekah is looking almost all better. We bought her pull-ups (that we will check a lot through the day). I hope she does well.

I don't have a lot of time, but anyway-

The agency called me about a REALLY GOOD job, and they had to have my resume re-done in a particular format in under 45 minutes. I did that, and got it to them, and the job begins monday IF they hire me.

BUT, that put me behind on another appointment that, if I don't keep, I will lose my unemployement.

SO, please pray for the right job, and also for time issues this afternoon (and it's karate night and all and I might not be back in time and my mom's in Maryland...ugh! I need to photocopy myself!)

THANKS!

Hi,
I have posted this in the homeschool chat thread, but never in the prayer thread.
Please pray that our house sells soon. We are moving, and hubby's company is paying our rent for 6 months. We are in the second month. We have had tons of extra expenses this summer, so the money we were going to use for curriculum this year (economic stimulus) is already gone. We have cut back as much as we can, but still have two sets of utility bills, etc. Even with the good raise that DH got, it is a struggle, and if the house does not sell soon, I am not sure what we will do.
I am considering going back to work, part-time. I will do what we need to do. It is just a lot to decided and figure out and we just want to sell the house and be able to pay off bills and start over.
It is a little overwhelming at times, and I find my faith grows weary... Thanks.

Brandon is having an EMG tomorrow at 12:30.

For those of you who don't know what that is, essentially they take thin needles and insert them along a nerve path, then zap the needles with a small electric impulse. The intent is to see if the nerves are communicating with the muscles as they should. At best it is unpleasant, at worst it can be pretty painful.

Prayers for a relatively pain free experience, and for Brandon's ability to sit still (something he is NOT normally good at) would be greatly appreciated.

Triss just replied to Trill's beau about some stuff he has said to her and the way he has acted toward her and Jerry and myself as well as his folks. She had tried the "truth in love" but it never sunk in so she put it all out here in the open in plain speech.

He sent a copy of the message to Trill expecting her to jump on the bash Triss bandwagon.

Trill did not. She told him that Triss was 100% correct.

he was 100% shocked.

Trill is doing the right thing. Keep her in your prayers. She needs them right now- she loves him but has gotten to the point where she sees his actions are not glorifying God, or edifying and she knows he is wrong. Now for him to figure it all out.

Please pray for Brandon to have a true and complete turn-around. He is making some very bad decisions, and headed down a very bad path. Thank you.

Please pray for my daughter Sam's left eye. We have an appointment at the eye doctor at 2:30 today.

I just had to buy her an eye patch, it is so sensitive to light! And she feels best with a blanket over her head covering her other eye too.

Last time this happened the doctor said it was an allergy to contact solution, but she stopped using generic brand solutions at that time. It seemed to get better but now for some unknown cause it worse again.

If I didn't already have an appt, I would take her to urgent care, as it seems to be getting worse as the day goes on...

Please pray for me as I have to go get my kidney stone zapped a third time.

Yep..same stone.

It has gone down from a 19 mm X 14 mm stone to a 12 mm X 6 mm stone...so this time (third time is the key, right?) should finish it off.

I go in August 20th, at 6:45 am

Also pray for us as we miss our Angelface...she isn't due back until the end of next week!

Update on prayer request:

Sam has the final word from her doctor. Her eyes have decided they hate her contacts.

The steroid eye drops will help, and she will need to wear her glasses for at least three weeks.

After that, she can check and see if her eyes are willing to forgive her contacts and move forward in the relationship or not.

Thanks for your prayers.

Please pray for my Sweetlips...she is 8 years old and has an abcessed gum at the moment. It is linked to 3 teeth trying to come in at the same time and to a tooth that she had to have a pulpectomy in last year (that is a baby tooth root canal..they take out the nerve but just fill the tooth rather than put in a pin). We are schedule to consult with an oral surgeon tomorrow to get 2 baby teeth pulled to move them out of the way of the teeth trying to come in and to remove the source/start of the infection (the dead tooth).

I have some major decisions to make in the next day or two. I can't go into them here but I could use some prayer.

Showing on the house went well... praying that an offer comes in.

Please pray for family situation. Am visiting my folks with my hubby and kids. He (hubby) has not been here in 3 or 4 years due to vacation conflicts. My parents treat him like he can do NO wrong, and my step-mom defends him if I say that slightest thing to him. It makes me so hurt and angry, and he does nothing but suck it up and ignores me. I am angry with him and with step-mom and I told him that we will not be coming back together. I know that this is the wrong reaction, but I get no support and it is very hard for me.
Thanks!!

Brandon has his MRI tomorrow. Please pray that they will easily find what's wrong and that it will be a simple fix.
