Kathryn- lack of sleep and all those emotions is going to have some affect on your emotionally and mentally. Try not to be so down on yourself about how you are feeling, because it is normal. I remember with Nath I was soooooo scared I would get depression again, but I really had to stop thinking like that and just enjoy him, and Grace and also use my brain to put things into place to help me cope. So I asked for help if I needed it, I tried to nap whenever he did. I cooked only a few times each week, we had leftovers alot. All that type of thing. I will be praying for you!!

Kathryn, I agree with Nicole. It is normal to feel anxious with a second baby. I had different feelings with Mary. I was sad a lot and all I could do was cry. Ask for help, especially from your husband. I'm sure he is busy with the church, but a husband should never be too busy for his wife and kids. (I'm sure he is a great help, just thought I'd make that comment anyway). I never really needed Ryan to DO anything for me. What I needed him for was to simply hold me during those times when the flood of emotions hit me. I couldn't control them at all, and it would hit me at any time during the day.

How long did you ladies bleed after your baby? I was 3 weeks pp on saturday and I'm still wearing a pad. I mean I could wear a pad all day and barely fill it, but still. I can't remember how long I bled with Nadia. I do remember it was on again, off again for a few weeks.

I wanna say atleast 3 weeks of atleast panty liner. My heavy was over within the first week. And that's with my first. I would assume that since you have had Nadia, you may bleed longer with subsequent deliveries? Or each person could be different.

With Esther, I was 3.5 weeks...2 weeks with super, long pads, 1 week with regular, and a few days with pantyliners.

I'd love to have my cycles start again. I don't care how bad they are. Once my cycles started again after Nadia I started to feel better. But I won't stop bfing to get it to start. Baby is already sleeping 5 hours at night, so I might get my wish soon.

I was wondering what the signs for PPD is, I just had my daughter just over a week ago, I feel like I just don't think i can handle being a mother, defiantly a single mother! I just think she deserves so much more! to actually have two parents! I am sorry for just being like this, but I am truly struggling.

Bees, I saw your post over in Parenting. I'm so sorry about what happened with your husband. I can't imagine how scared you must be having to face all of this by yourself and working on top of it. Yes, you are at high risk for PPD, but we here can't really tell if you have it. Do you have family you trust? A church home? Good friends who can help and support you? Please keep in contact with your doctors about whatever you might be feeling, and let us know a bit more about you, too! God Bless

Bees, going through PPD right now myself. I had a baby 4 weeks ago and have it, had it with my older daughter too. Don't be afraid to get help. Please PM me if you want to talk. It's not easy, but there is help.

How long till the hair loss stops? I'm getting clods out, it's nasty.

I haven't had the hair loss... I just realized the other day that didn't happen. Although I don't have to shave as often, which is nice! I have my 6 week appointment today. I still have lochia, which stinks. And about a week ago it turned back to bright red and more of it. Which also stunk. But the last couple days have gotten a little better. I'm ready for that to be done! Do they do a pelvic exam at the 6 week appointment? I'm seriously dreading that and will probably take Tylenol before I go...

Purejoy, my hair loss didn't start until Gabby was almost 4 months old.

Never thought of that Donna, hey, isn't that nice!! Ryanne, you lost your underarm and pubic hair? I've never heard that!! It might be nice to loose the underarm hair. Do I really need to get a pap smear if I had one last year and all of mine have been ok and I'm only with one man?
