Call me crazy, but if you're getting enough fluids, and sufficient calories in a day - then I think you should be fine, unless your blood sugar drops really bad (and you'd know it if it did). I'd encourage you to abstain from calories post dinner, unless you're going to wake up starving hungry at 3am or something. WOF always used to say that if you wanted to loose weight while BFing, calculate how many calories your body needs to maintain weight, say 2000. Then subtract 200 for loosing weight, then add 500 for BFing - equals 2300. It wouldn't hurt to talk to your doctor about loosing baby weight while BFing. Always keep hydrated, though!

I don't either. My sister and my best friend both told me how the pounds would melt off. They both were at their pre-pregnancy weight or under by their 6 week check up. So I had these visions of the weight melting off, didn't happen. He was 6 months old before I was able to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight which such a letdown. I did loose quite a bit of it in the first month, but about 10-15 lbs. just stuck on to me until he was around 6 months old.

The incision cuts through your muscles, weakening them. My incision, both times, is almost right on the pubic bone. Not through much, if any, stomach muscle. I can't even see my incision it's so low. Now the pregnancy itself stretched/weakened my stomach muscle. Amber, I gained/lost 40 lbs in the first couple weeks with my first as well. And don't worry, your skin will probably tighten up *some* over the next year, as your tummy muscles get back to normal, etc.! Mine did. But it took right around a year.

Well, I didn't have a c-section and I've had saggy skin ever since DD#1. I gained 40 lbs with her and the lost 35 of that within 2 weeks of her birth. I had gotten so huge, and my stomach went down so fast that my skin just could not keep up. Despite regular exercising, the skin has never tightened up totally. It has improved somewhat in between, but it was always obvious. No stretch marks, but really saggy skin. Kinda like people who are really overweight and lose a lot in a short time - they have the same problem (on a much larger scale of course!). I can't stand it, because my stomach gets skinny again but it looks horrible. Well, it's not skinny yet after #4, but eventually right?

I had a vaginal deliver, but I still have some saggy skin lovingly referred to as the mommy apron. Its not a lot, but its there. I just wish I had a personal trainer like the stars and have it go away, I bet none of them have mommy aprons...ugh! Oh well, if I got my butt in gear I could probably get some of it to go away.

No, I didn't see that, but it makes me feel better.

My tummy is something I'd actually consider having plastic surgery on when I'm done having babies, AND if I can get down to a weight I like. I doubt I'll be able to get rid of the flab. My mom is not heavy and she never lost hers after 4 kids.

I'm right with you Donna. I will be working over the next couple years to lose weight. I should really lose about 60-80 lbs. However I would like to have more kids yet. When the time comes and I am able to lose that weight, surgery will be the only help in getting rid of the flabby skin.
