Good idea. I am slowly upping my speed, but I am afraid of flying off the back..it is not anywhere near a fast pace either.

I do it slowly. I want it to be a challenge, but not too much. I am excited to run this week, as I am finally able to finish my routine. That has been a long time coming!

I worked my distances and speed up slowly and I'm glad I did it that way. I pushed myself hard - yes, but I built a strong foundation for my running and it's now paying off. I ran 2 miles this morning and it felt great. I think maybe I'm finally getting past the post-sickness funk I was in for so long.

I would rather run in the 40s as well. Maybe I can do a short run today and a longer one tomorrow.

I did a quick two-mile tempo run at about a 10:00 pace. It wasn't too bad. Temps had dropped to 65 by the time I left and it helps tremendously for the sun to be low in the sky.

Today is run day. Tomorrow is weights. My husband is going to join the gym with me with a free 45 day pass. He does not do cardio like I do, and I pray that he does not hamper my work outs. :) I am going to keep the same speed for the rest of this week, and then up my speed on Monday. Slowly get to the 10 min mile. I am also going roller blading today. It is sunny so I need to get outside and enjoy the sun, since it is still here. :)

Stellaluna--COOL!!! You are gonna love it! I'm thinking about getting my dad a 205. He likes to walk and keep track of how far he goes. Today was a run day. So early this morning that I've almost forgotten that I did it! Just a little neighborhood trot. I had hoped to do some speed work, but the legs informed me that would not be happening... I met with my swim coach last evening. My current tri coach isn't quite working out, so I'm thinking about switching. It was a very good meeting and I think he will be a better coach for me.

Uggg, it's been either windy (40+ mph) and warm or cold the past week or so here. Now, it's in the 20's and light flurries...

Me too! It was too cold for me. It was 19 degrees but windy. I don't like wearing hats. Ice hasn't been cleared yet on all places either. Ran 2.2 on the treadmill. (my long run ha, ha)

I got a decent 10mile run in yesterday morning. From mile 4-5 it's all uphill. I should have cut the run to 8miles and avioded that hill! But, alas, it was a decent run. It snowed all day yesterday. Not much accumulation--2-3inches??? But, roads were still a mess this morning. I drove to the gym for a swim. 2000yds in 49:11, which is a decent time. On the way home I drove part of my bike route. No way was I riding that today. Bummer... I borrowed ds1's mountain bike and rode on the bike path. 14miles of slipping and sliding. It was a nice change of pace!

I am so excited. On Friday I ran and I was barely making it. It was a horrible workout and I was beat the whole night. Then Sat & Sun I was out of it. I spent almost the whole day yesterday in bed, I was so tired. Today I woke up and felt great. Went to the gym and ran and did great. I even upped my speed on everything and i am not beat at all! Yeah! I love these days that shows I am getting in shape! I will get to the 10 min mile yet!

I'm kinda bumming... My coach just wasn't working out for me. We never got the communication thing down, his theory didn't line up with mine (I wanna have FUN training, he's all business). So, earlier this week I emailed him and told him I thought it would be best if we moved on. He never replied. I did, however, get an email from the training log website informing me that my account had been terminated by this coach. I guess I was expecting some sort of reply from the coach??? So my swim coach is now my triathlete coach. He asked for a test mile. Not a "run til you puke" run, but just a good effort. I had hoped to do it on the track, but because it's raining I had to do it on the road. I did a short warm up, then the test mile. I was shocked when I downloaded the data and saw that I managed a 8:02 mile! Overall, I ran 4.5miles in 37:29 for a 8:27pace. Not bad. Not bad at all, considering I haven't done any speed work in over a year!
