Working 11-7am at the hotel and then 9-5pm in Ft. Wayne.

I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow evening.

I did some laundry tonight and praise the Lord! I had run out of clean underwear and was having to buy new underwear since I didn't have time to clean any! HAHA!

Florida is only 5 days away..woo woo!

Blech, I was laying with my head on the couch arm with one hand under it and then I lifted up my head and a bunch of nerves pinched in my shoulder. Arg, hate it when that happens. Even though I am only 24 I think my spine is about double that age.

My favorite chore is doing laundry and its partly due to the smell of clean laundry. Right now, I'm using Tide total care liquid laundry detergent and it just smells soooo good.

I wish, wish, wish I had a washer/dryer combo in my apartment so that I could just pop a load in and go to sleep or pop clothes in the dryer to get wrinkles out or to just have warm clothes waiting for when I get out of the shower in the wintertime- I miss that even more than the smell of laundry!

I also go through the laundry aisle in the grocery because I love it. Does that make me weird?

I love the smell of laundry, even bleached towels.

Catherine, sorry to hear about your neck.

I would be in trouble if I ever ran out of clean undies. I bought like 50 pair alone during the holidays when they were on sale at Victoria Secret. I spent waaaaaay too much money on panties last year but man they're cute!

I love the smell of freshly laundered clothes and wish I could afford Tide more often. That detergent is the best smelling out there.

Cinderellie, Cinderellie... praying for your ouchified neck and imagining singing/dancing animated mousies over here.

Reebz, yep. (But I'm weird, too ... and we love you in all your God-given glorious weirdness!)

Kath ... I can't help it! Your photo of Bailey just makes me smile every time I see it! What fun for you to get to see Bailey (and get the smiles!) all the time!

Ofa ... I like laundry too, and so do my cats. One of our cats (McIntosh) goes simply NUTS over dryer sheets, and waits and meows and then dives into the warm laundry looking for "his" dryer sheet before proudly carrying it off. We find them everywhere, lol!

I've got an itchy skeeter bite on my left ankle ... and feel like I've been scratching it for the past 48 hours! Oh well, at least it's getting me to bend over and touch my toes, right? (grin)

My wonderful DH leaves for work around noonish. This afternoon I'm heading to both of our local Big Lots stores to see if I can find some "Munchkin tri flow bottles" for my friend who does animal rescue and needs them for bottle babies. Seems they are discontinued, but she's found some at Big Lots.... so I told her I'd check our local stores.

I didn't bike this morning, but I did get some yard work done ~ trees trimmed, bushed pruned, that sort of thing. I like to make a yard mess on Thursday since the gardeners come on Friday. One of these days I really want to scrub off the front porch, but I lacked the motivation to do that this morning .... maybe this weekend? Then I went to the store today and picked up some basics: blackberries, romaine hearts, asparagus, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, carrots, cabbage, and pea pods. I also picked up some lean turkey, lean ham, and lean beef. I think dinner tonight will be ham-wrapped grilled aspragus ... yum yum yum! (My wonderful DH is working again tonight.)

The scale has been bouncy lately ... bounce down, bounce up, bounce down, bounce up. My official weigh-in day is on Monday, so maybe I'll just stay off the scale for the next few days since it's been pretty annoying to see it bounce UP, ya know? If I manage to lose 5 pounds for July, that will be something .... but I'll take it ... every ounce, every pound, every mile biked ~ it's all an investment in my health.

Next Monday (August 2) I go for my 1-week-before-my-endocrinologist blood test. There's usually a ridiculous wait time at the lab, but I went online and made an appt for 8:40am, so we'll see if that improves the wait time. And I wrote a big note on my calendar reminding myself to be "extra hydrated" for my blood test ... it reduces the likelihood that they have to stick me more than once to find a vein. Then my doctor appointment is the following Monday (August 9.) I've lost another 35 pounds since I last saw her in April, so I'm hoping she will be pleased.

I'm a bit sad. Our aging, one-eyed, "front porch feral" kitty cat, Limpy, has been missing for three days.... the longest he's ever been gone (and he's not mobile enough to wander very far, ya know, since he hops around on 2 legs.) Anyway, my wonderful DH thinks he's been "heading downhill" for the past few weeks, and I'm wondering if he's gone gone. Yes, we've scoured a 2-block radius of the neighborhood and asked people, and no sign of him. And we've prayed ~ handing him over to the Lord since we can't do anything. (sigh) Of course, this makes me cry. He's been "ours" for more than 5 years ... we've fed, watered and sheltered him (and protected him as best as we could) ... but we never got him to trust him enough to pet him. I keep looking out the door hoping to see him hopping around my front porch, but my hope has been dwindling and I'm trying to stop worrying ~ and stop looking.

WARNING !! VENT AHEAD

How do you have a conversation with your 44 yr. old unmarried no kids sister who expects way too much of your teens, kept saying how nice my son was because he responded to a comment she made on his FB page, but griped because dd doesn't comment and who makes generalizing comments of all 12th graders after working with a one today who didn't want to have a conversation wit her.

I was offended by a comment she made regarding my daughter because she's such a sweet girl and does just live in her own 16 yr. old world. I wonder if my sister thinks she's suppose to be her best friend?

Ok, done. I must have rolled my eyes 100 times during most of our conversation today. I'm afraid that one day I'm gonna blow my stack.

Harvie, I'm sure you Dr. is going to be very happy with your weight loss.

Kath, I was wonderign the same thing about the gardeners? Do they mow your lawn Harvie?

Ask to remember what it was like to be a teenager. Even thing have changed there is still a "core" to what it was like.

1. Mow the lawns, front and back (year 'round)

2. Edge the lawns, front and back (year 'round)

3. Rake up and remove leaves (year 'round!)

4. Rake up and remove all of my "mess" ... I trim the trees and prune the shrubs and deadhead the flowers ... and leave happy green clumps and piles all over the place (sometimes!)

I should note that I am verrrry allergic to grass, so I can't mow/edge ... and my wonderful DH is gone 4-6 months of every year, so we decided before we bought this house that we'd hire a gardener to mow and edge, and we've been using the same man/family ever since. He's a great guy, a strong christian, and he faithfully prays for my wonderful DH when he's deployed .... how very cool is that?

Yay for clean undies!

I hadn't completely run out of clean undies, but nearly. It's been raining, so I ended up buying some new ones so that if it took longer than usual to dry, I'd have some in reserves.

I love the smell of clean laundry. Towels and things that don't have elastics in them get put on the washing line. They smell so good. Other laundry get hung up on airers and put where wind can get to them, but not the sun.

You don't. I actually had to tell my 30-something SIL to BUTT-OUT before. Now I love my SIL to death, but she really has no business complaining about how my 12 and 16 year olds choose to thank their grandmother for things or what my children choose to wear to church on Easter morning (unless of course she's willing to buy them new clothes - but even then!) She really has NO business expressing her (often negative) opinion in a conversation between my 16 year old and her and my DH's aunt. Finally my husband and I decided to talk to OUR kids about this and have taught them that they do NOT need to respond to her negativity AT ALL.

Blessings,

Garsy

MMP's birthday is today. He's 31! I'm so glad he was born...and have told him such.

I prayed for while with him last night about his next year of life and he just hugged me very tight afterward. I do love this man and don't quite know what to make of his not wanting to share his goals for the next year...I asked if there were any plans/goals for this next year he was hoping for and he just grinned and said - "why yes, but I don't want to tell them yet". Hmm.

It's a slow news day but still plenty to do.

I'm going to start packing tonight for Florida woo woo!

I told hubby about our conversation while he was driving home from work and he just grunted. I think she need to change jobs and her unhappiness is showing through. I know she's not happy where her life has gone, but I'd never ever tell her about. I know you can be single and happy, but she's not and you can see it physically.

Harvie, I'd have a landscaper too if dh were gone a lot. My kids can do stuff, but ... .

Reba, Happy Birthday to your MMP. What does MMP stand for? I keep forgetting to ask.

Got to clean house today.

My most favorite smell is fresh laundry...I love walking by people's houses when they have the dryer running...it's like smelling fresh lilacs

I've been.

It's okay.

It's unique because you don't pay gen. admission but can choose what to pay for.

Their water slides and lazy river were the best growing up but I think Holiday World has them beat.

Also - exciting day at the newsroom. There was a shooting and that sent a typically lazy Friday into a world wind - I love this working in a newsroom thing!

Now it's off to shop for vacation items -wooo wooo!

I filled bird feeders and scrubbed off the front porch today. (Yes, actually scrubbed with soap and water!) I don't know why ... but it was bugging me ... so now it's all spic n' span. Oh, and I did some banking and paid a few bills, too. I was thinking about washing my bike, but it's HOT out there ... so maybe I will wait until after dinner (or tomorrow morning) to get IT all spic n' span.

Hmmm, is that so? I haven't had the TV on all day. Listened to the radio for a little bit this morning. Way to turn calm into chaotic tho!
